The graffiti on the bridge changed almost from day to day, so what was on it when i took the photo was just happenstance. The line at the very top reads, "HEY TREE- WELCOME TO OKC !!! I took this picture to my first mall show in 1989. As I was setting up on the second day, one of the young ladies who worked in the mall stopped by my booth. She pointed to this picture and asked, "Did you draw that just the way it was?" I replied,"Pretty much. Kyle wasn't actually in love with Darla, but the rest of it is mostly unchanged." She said, "I'm Tree. My friends painted that for me when I moved back into the city."

I recieved an e-mail on March 16, 2008:

"Saw on your website your picture of the Graffiti Bridge. You say that Kyle wasn't in love with Darla. True. But he does love her. Darla is Kyle's mom and you moved his name to the left on your picture. We painted the bridge in late December 1987, or early January 1988. "POTFI" was painted where Kyle's name is in your picture. The other painters that night were Mark, Nina, and Jim. We all, except for my son Kyle, had attended Harding High School in the 1960s. We have number 7/25. Someone called Nina, who lived in NYC, and told her about the serigraph displayed in a nursing home in Edmond... I went to buy it, but Nina called and bought it. The serigraph was gone when I got there. Nina gave it to darla for Christmas, 1990 or 1991."
